Week of 2/27 - 3/2/12
It's Dinosaur Week in Preschool! We will make baby dinosaur eggs in Art, pretend to be paleontologists, and sort, count, match, and play with loads of dinosaurs. We will learn about the letter R. We will observe a model volcano erupting, play some dinosaur games, and sing some dinosaur songs. We will begin learning New Testament stories about Jesus' teaching and miracles. For each story we will add a symbol to our Lenten Jesus Tree.
Wednesday, February 29 - Class pictures - 8:50 in the gym. T-Th kids are welcome to join us for the picture.
Thursday, March 1 - Family Reading Night - 6:30 - 7:30 - See Wednesday Packet for more info.
Ice cream days will be Wednesdays and Thursdays during Lent, as ice cream is not sold on Fridays during this time.

Week of 2/21 - 2/23/12
Our theme this week is My Community. We will talk about how we each have a house, a city, a state, and a country. We will make a simple "road map" of our community in Art. We will play with cars and a road map rug in Blocks. We will pretend to work at and visit a doctor's office in Dramatic Play. We will pretend to sort mail. We will learn about helpers in our community. In Religion we will learn about and attend Ash Wednesday Mass with our 6th grade buddies.

Happy Valentine's Day! We will be doing a variety of valentine crafts, sorting and counting conversation hearts, learning about the letter B and reviewing our letter sounds, having a valentine party in Dramatic Play, searching for hearts in the Sensory Table, and in Religion we will learn how Valentine's Day is a special time to show love to others and we will visit the church.
Tues. 2/14 - Valentine's Day Party 1:00 in the classroom. All are welcome.
Fri. 2/17 - No School - Diocesan Inservice
Mon. 2/20 - No School - President's Day
Thurs. 2/23 - PTC After School
Fri. 2/24 - No School - PTC
M-W-F kids are welcome to come to the party. If your child would like to bring valentines for the class, we have 14 students.
We are in need of more kleenex. If you would like to donate a box, we would be most appreciative!

This week in Preschool we will be learning all about Space. We will be making space scenes in Art, playing with the Planet Hero set in Blocks, playing rocket ship in Dramatic Play, playing with astronauts in the Sensory Table, learning about the letter P, and learning about church in Religion.
Tuesday, February 7 - Free Dress if you wore a uniform to Mass for Catholic Schools Week
