Stick Horse Rodeo

The grand finale of our Wild West Week was our Rodeo.  We barrel raced using cones for barrels.  We did some calf roping using a hula hoop to "rope" a cone.  We finished up with a saddle bag snack and some old fashioned campfire songs.

Wild West Week

Look at all the creative artwork!

The kids did a wonderful job on their "homework."

Showing off our bolo ties,

and our Western duds.

We're all looking mighty fine!

Whoa!

Yee Haw!

Folks, we had such a durn good week!  Sorry for the delayed posting.  I have had some major computer problems lately.  Thank goodness for Mr. Newton, my tech support.

Scenes from Valentines Week

Thought you all might enjoy some candid shots from last week.  I love seeing them in action, learning through play, and working hard on sorting and art activities.  Thanks so much to our Homeroom Parents for the Valentines Party and for all of the wonderful goodies you gave to the teachers!

100 Days of School, 100 Days of Fun!

We wrote the number 100 on our crowns by ourselves!

Decorating our crowns with stickers and crayons.

Now for the best part,

the moment we've all been waiting for, CUPCAKES!

Sometimes you just don't feel like being in the group picture :)

I think they did a wonderful job, don't you?

Couldn't resist adding Mitzi's Cheetos picture!!

What a wonderful celebration we had to commemorate the 100th Day of School!  We counted to 100, changed our caterpillar into a butterfly, made crowns, marched and sang a 100 day song, and of course, ate cupcakes.  What's a party without cupcakes?

Service Project

During Catholic Schools Week all of the students at SPX participated in a service project.  Our class made cards and collected food for Catholic Charities.  Hopefully, we were able to brighten someone's day with our offerings.

Let It Snow!

Did you know that Ivory Soap expands a lot when you put it in the microwave?  It's very cool to observe and then when the soap itself cools you can sprinkle it around the room and have your own indoor snowstorm!  Just a peek at our Winter Wonderland Week...

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Mrs. Newton's Class!  The kids looked so cute in their red and green clothes on party day - I just had to take some pictures and we had a fashion show.  I hope everyone had a relaxing break.  Thank you so much for the wonderful party and the monogrammed coffee cup!  I just love it.  See you all very soon!
