Volcano!!!

This science activity was a huge hit!  The kids really loved watching the colored vinegar react with the baking soda.  On the second day we even got out our toy dinosaurs and had them run away from the hot lava!  There was lots of screaming involved :)

Hello, All!  Sorry I haven't posted for awhile.  I hope you enjoy seeing some of the fun we are having during Dinosaur Week.  As you can see, we have been busy!

Next week we will learn about St. Patricks Day.  Also, next Wednesday is Pizza Day.  Preschool enrollment papers are due next Friday, March 15.  And then we will all relax a bit over Spring Break, 3/18 -3/22.

A few shots from the Valentine's Day party...not my best :)  but you can see everyone hard at work, decorating our sacks.  The party was wonderful!  Thanks so much to Sophia's mom and Kyia's mom, and to all the parents who were able to come or who sent supplies, etc. for the party.  After decorating we passed out valentines, ate a delicious snack, and played an animal sound matching game.  And then we were off to the playground.

Don't forget pizza day is Wednesday this week!  Send money for your child if you are ordering pizza, and remember that Wednesday is also a Spirit Dress Day.  Coming up next week we have class pictures on the 27th (also a Wednesday.)  This is a regular uniform dress day.  As soon as we know the time for our pictures, we will let you know so that the T-Th kids may come for the picture if you would like to do so.  Another reminder that we have an early dismissal day coming up on Friday, March 1.  Dismissal is at 1:00 pm.  If you are not able to pick up your child at 1:00 pm and need aftercare that day, please notify the office.

Thank you all for coming to lunch and spending time with us!  We love our families and appreciate all of your support.  Thanks also for the contributions to our coin collection.  The Preschool classes raised over $100.00 for our capital campaign!!  Thanks also for supporting our Auction this past weekend.  Looking forward to talking with you at conferences about your wonderful kids.

A late posting of a few group shots during Catholic Schools Week.  What a great week it was!  As you can see, we all got into the spirit of things.

Happy 100th Day of School!  We made it!  Now we get to gear up for Catholic Schools Week.  Please refer to the letter sent in the folders last week and/or to the information in the Wednesday packet for all the details of what your kids should wear and when all the activities are happening.  And please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.  Thanks so much for sending spare change for our coin collection.  You may send in change through Tuesday.  We appreciate your donations which will go toward our new school!

This is my somewhat feeble attempt at action photography.  But hopefully it will give you a small taste of our Winter Wonderland fun last week.  We were ice skating with paper plates, and having an indoor snowball fight using toilet paper.  Great fun and we managed to expend a lot of energy, which was very helpful as it was so cold and rainy at the end of the week :)

Starting tomorrow is our ever popular Space Week in Preschool!  We'll have loads of fun, especially in Dramatic Play where we'll pretend to fly a rocket ship using a control panel and keyboards.

Our Religion lesson for the week talks about how all babies are special gifts from God just like Baby Jesus, and reminds us that we were all babies once.  Can you please send a baby picture of your child?  We will take turns sharing the pictures with the class on Wednesday and Thursday and all pictures will be returned by the end of the week.  Thanks so much for your help with this!
